Speaking from Experience//Booklets

So for each booklet i am doing a hot dog folding booklet. This divides a A3 page into 6, making 6 pages for the insides of the booklet.
Afte designing all the icons/illustrations and having the content written and ready, i simply had to place it all together and make it look good!

To start with i split the page up into the correct pages, by doing this i have created the fold lines too. This works out that each page is A6.

From this i started to add in the design, i made a mock up one first so i could see which pages had to be upside down and in which order etc. Here i have added the front and back cover.

Adding in the illustrations/icons and the title of each page.

Finally adding in the content of each page to finish off the booklet designs

Close ups of the layout of the pages.

After doing this first booklet, i could use the design and layout as a template for the rest of them. I basically had to copy and paste them and then just change the content for each page. The organisation one took slightly longer because i had to replace the illustrations, but it still worked on the same template.
This works in favour because it keeps all the booklets along the style and you can establish they are a set of booklets because of this. Following this same layout made makes the booklet very fluent and easy to read, it makes it easy to compare the three types of designers too. As the pages fold down to a small format i think i had made use of the available space well.
