OUGD502 // Personal Branding // Porfolio Changes

As i created the first portfolio in order to send to the engine room so they could see some of the work i have been working on, i did this fairly quick and rushed, so i wanted to re-do it to improve it and make it tie in more with my own branding and to show off the work better.

In order to do this i have made the following changes:

The front cover of the portfolio has stayed the same because i felt that this has communicated me over well in one page. My branding is displayed well and works good within the space. The contact details are clear and visible to see.

Throughout the portfolio i have added a orange page to each project, this holds the information about it. In this case this is after the front cover and i wanted my details to be clear and seen, so they know about it. Hence displaying them here like this. The orange page also makes a bold statement within the portfolio, but ties into my branding.

By adding the information about the project to a sperate page, this has given me more room to display the project. For each one i will use the whole space given to create this wall of images that display and communicate each project.

The information page is set out similar, but has the information about the project this includes: name, disciplines of design involved and brief introduction to the project.
Again to keep my details running through these have been added to the bottom corner.

This is the same all the way through the portfolio and is designed in the same way, this makes it consistant throughout.

At the end of the portfolio i have added this page above. This communicates the idea that i want to get in contact with them and that i want to visit their studio, by displaying it in a more conversational style, this doesn't seem that full on as a statement and sounds as though it is within a conversation i have had or having with the company. Hopefully it will make them get in contact with me!

The next page again display my contact information using the the same idea of the speech bubble which tell them to contact me using these details.

I am hoping that this small personal touch to the portfolio will amuse people, but also make them take me more serious and think that i am there to get experience and hopefully they will reply and give me a yes!

The beauty of this portfolio is that it can be easily printed to make a printed portfolio, if i was to do this, the image and information slides would be printed back to back, creating one double sided page for each project, this would fit together to create pages upon pages of projects which would be held together with an elastic band. The advantage of this is that i can swap and change the projects within the portfolio depending on the company or client i would be showing it to.

The second advantage to this because it is digital i can again add slides and take slides away when visiting different studios / companies / clients. By having the portfolio digital i can easily update it and change anything that crops up being wrong. The design can be easily refreshed too.
I think because of the way we work in todays world, i would present a company or client this portfolio and take a couple of samples with me. If i was posting out my portfolio, i would again include this digital copy as the main piece and maybe add some smaller samples within it.

As a second year student and not someone who has a fully finished and up to date portfolio i think the way i have designed it gives me a lot of flexibility within creating and presenting something to future clients.
